This page includes works not technically painted from one of the 44 benches in Lakefront Park on the St. Croix River in Hudson, Wisconsin.

 

When painting outdoors on the bench project I often take videos of moments that strike me, and use them for inspiration for indoor paintings.

These paintings are done 100% indoors, on 6" x 8" watercolor paper, with gouache paints. Gouache paints are opaque watercolors. I have 3 combinations of primary colors, and one prismatic set. Permanent white is used in all paintings. Ivory or lamp black is used sparingly, or not at all. You may notice differences if you look closely.
