I was struck by this old house, built in 1875, when I was out walking in the Highwood Hills neighborhood. The sun over Pig's Eye Lake lights it up in the afternoon and early evening. The ancient, twisted tree vies for your attention. The symmetry of the landscaping, and the unexpected green of the front door add charm. The flower planters echo the color of the house trim.  Oh yes, the wreath was painted before they took it down.
