I love the train bridge. What a workhorse it is. Up and down it goes many times a day. Up to let the barges get pushed through, down to let the trains cross the river

This is a view of St. Paul from the Showboat Landing Public Dock, near Harriet Island. A shor walk to the end of the dock just beyond the Covington Inn. What a busy place this is at night for the fishers of catfish. So fun, and peaceful in the wee hours before dawn.

Harriet Island Grand Stairs is a peaceful place in the morning. The old timers come out to fish most days, they are geared up. I even arrived before them once or twice.

I've been told that this is the most photographed scene in the Twin Cities. It is so interesting to watch the movement of the barges. Today was so windy I gave up on my umbrella, at one point I was holding onto it while at the same time holding down my easel. This is an outdoor painting!

The sky was blue but the water was not calm the day I painted the Harriet Island Pavilion. This was painted from the Red River Kitchen at the City House Municipal Elevator. It was during the time of the View and a Brew showing.

The barges come and go as they hitch up in front of the Red River Kitchen at City House, right on the Mississippi across from Harriet Island. Upper Landing Public Pier is on the left. The Centennial Showboat, Covington Inn, MS Beluga, and the Minnesota Boat Club are on the right.
