This is a studio painting based on the outdoor paintings. It was inspired by a photo I took of the skyline at dawn, a beautiful sunrise after painting through the night. Artistic license permits the Centennial Showboat to appear lit up in all it's glory, which sadly it did not do at all in 2015.
This is a studio painting based on the outdoor paintings. This scene, from the second level steps of the Wabasha Bridge at Raspberry Island, was inspired by a photo I took of the Anson Northrup Riverboat as it musically passed by one evening.
Saint Paul from an outlook along Mounds Boulevard, in the Dayton's Bluff area of Saint Paul, very close by Indian Mounds Park. The time is September and barges are lining up to get filled at CHS Inc. CHS Inc. owns the name of the Saint Paul Saints baseball stadium in Lowertown.
This view of Saint Paul is one on my favorites. It is dawn from the end of the Harriet Island public dock. The Wabasha Bridge is near with the Robert Street bridge in the distance. The Minnesota Boat Club is in shadow on the right.
Morning run, after the rain, along the river from Upper Landing Park in Saint Paul, Minnesota. The Wabasha, Robert Street, and Lafayette bridges are all in view
Fisherman and his hooded pal on a very calm morning at sunrise. They are fishing from the Upper Landing Public Pier near Chestnut Plaza in St. Paul, Minnesota.
This studio Painting is from a panaramic photgraph taken a dawn. My favorite train bridge is up at dawn to let the barges pass through. The trains will have to wait
