I learned so much painting the Lights on the Mississippi scenes in 2014 that I decided I wanted to paint the same six scenes again in 2015.

The Menshek family lived at 275 Cliff Street (built in 1900) and Superior Street, near the High Bridge entry on Smith Anenue. I am pretty confident it is not the High Bridge in the background because photos of the High Bridge from 1908 to 1912 do not look like this bridge.

Chestnut Plaza Public Pier

This is the last of the six paintings in the series - the Chestnut Plaza Public Pier. It took 11 nights and dawns. I am not sure why I paint more slowly with each picture. Someone said maybe I do not want to finish. I am grateful for the encouragement from the walkers and fishers.

Centennial Showboat from Harriet Island

This is the view of Saint Paul from the Harriet Island Grand Stairs. It is right next to the Padelford Riverboats. It was fun to meet Captain Paul, first mate Mary, and crew Ryan who stopped by to see my progress.

My second outing for 2015 was this view of Saint Paul, Minnesota from the Showboat Landing Dock. It was chilly on couple days of the five nights of painting. Little Danielle was such a good helper, mixing paint on Friday night! I used it in the painting.
